The W.H.O. Collaborating Centre for International Nursing Development at
Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto has been notified that it has received a
youth internship award from the Canadian Society for International Health.
It is looking for a recently graduated Masters prepared nurse (or someone
with a BSc and some postgraduate training) to take up this award to assist
in the development of the BSc Nursing Program at the Jimma Institute of
Health Sciences in Jimma, Ethiopia (which is situated 350 km southwest of
the capital, Addis Ababa). Some teaching experience would be an asset and
English is required. The term of work is for about 8 months and would
likely start at the beginning of 1998. The intern should have a
personality suitied to working in a team setting and should have the desire
to work in new contexts and live in an area of the world that may not have
all the amenities of a Western lifestyle.

If you are interested in this award please contact Helene Thibault at the
Canadian Society for International Health in Ottawa (613-241-5785;
