Dear list members,

I read an article from the New York Tribune date August 22, 1902 which
is apparently a reply Mark Twain sent to some questions asked of him
about _HUck Finn_ having been barred out of the Denver Library. In the
article, Twain seems of the opinion that the only reason it was removed
was to please Frederick Funston, about whom Twain had written a scathing
indictment for his involvement in the Philippine-American war (North
American Review 174 May 1902).
I have been unable to find any other reference to this incident and am
wondering whether you have any information regarding the Denver
Library's decision to ban Huck Finn.
