9TH CANADIAN CONFERENCE ON INTERNATIONAL HEALTH (CCIH): BE A MENTOR!
This year at the 9th Annual Canadian Conference on International Health
(CCIH), participants will be able to become mentors for students. As a
mentor, you will include students in discussion, introduce them to
colleagues and will generally involve them in the conference experience
and your collective wisdom! Students have a great deal to share and we
hope it’s a two-way street! If you would like to be a mentor, please
mention this during conference registration: you will be given a special
sticker so that students know you are receptive to mentoring. CCIH,
hosted by the Canadian Society for International Health, will be held in
Ottawa, October 27-30, 2002. For more information, visit the conference
website: http://www.csih.org/what/conferences.html, or contact

IMPORTANT CANADIAN BREAKTHROUGH IN HIV VACCINE RESEARCH
The Canadian Network for Vaccines and Immunotherapeutics (CANVAC) has

human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) particles plus a novel immune
stimulator (adjuvant) are protected from genital infection with a model
virus expressing one of the HIV proteins. For more information on this
breakthrough, visit:
