Subject: PLEASE POST--New Internships/Job       Postings

       PLEASE POST/CIRCULATE

       This notice is an update on a new overseas placements just
announced through our international internship program.  Eligible
applicants must be CANADIAN citizens under 30 years old and be
unemployed or underemployed post-secondary graduates
(not students).  APPLICATION DEADLINE is JUNE 11th 1998.

PLEASE POST and/or circulate the job postings listed below through
any email lists, newsletters, job boards, etc.

Subject to available funding from the Canadian International
Development Agency and Human Resources Development Canada, as
well as a final review by Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs
and International Trade SDRI expects to support at least 30
positions selected among the following 17 countries:

Argentina, Azerbajijan, Belize, China, India, Lesotho, Malawi,
Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines,
Tanzania, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam.

Positions available include those for graduates with both
general and specialized backgrounds including job postings in
Forestry, Education, Economics, Tourism, Computer Modeling,
Capacity-building, Marine Ecology, Engineering, Agriculture,
Librarianship, Museology, etc.

Placements are in various international or Canadian non-
governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutes or
research projects, private sector enterprises, government
agencies and multilateral institutions.

This program seeks to prepare a new generation of ecologically
and socially responsible Canadian youth to further sustainable
development objectives and career opportunities in Canada and
abroad. It is also designed to enhance positive, long-term,
and mutually beneficial partnerships between peoples and
institutions in Canada and other nations.
