Apologies to those who receive this on
more than one list...

Has anyone used audio tapes for health
education? We are distributing prenatal
health information by mail to publicly
funded pregnant women at home.(4
mailings throughout pregnancy, 4th grade
reading level.) We are considering means
to increase  use of the materials and to
aid comprehension for those who are not
proficient readers.

One idea is to send along an audio tape.
It may be the full text of the print
materials --a "book on tape" or a
highlights version focusing on key
messages and how they apply at a
particular point in pregnancy.

Any notes on your experience,
suggestions re audio tapes will be
welcome. Also, if you are aware of
reported or unreported studies on the
use of audio tapes for health
education/promotion (or clues) will be
appreciated.
