The recent Walk Safely to School Day from RTA et al had the joint messages
of hold their hand until they are 10 when crossing the road as well as
general physical activity and safety messages - wear light clothes etc. RTA
should be able to help. Also there is a US program about walking to school
- called Kids Walk to School www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/kidswalk.htm
Also try Kidsafe at Westemead cos they were involved with the recent RTA
grants schemes about road safety for kids.

Hope this helps!

Subject: Child Pedestrian Safety

I was wondering if anyone can assist with some ideas for a child pedestrian
safety project focussing on parents and caregivers of children aged 5-10
years. Key messages include adult supervision needed. Are there any
successful models that can act as a starting point? Thanks.
