The Heart Health Resource Centre (HHRC) at the Ontario Public Health
Association has a mandate to support the Ontario Heart Health Program by
enhancing the capacity of public health agencies and their community
partners to implement comprehensive, multi risk factor, community-based
heart health programs.

The OPHA Heart Health Resource Centre is seeking to hire a full-time Program
Co-ordinator for a one year maternity leave contract between August 6,
2002 – August 2003.

The Program Co-ordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation and
evaluation of all training, coaching and consultation programs of the HHRC.

The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge and experience in the areas of
program planning, training and development, facilitation, evaluation and
community development.  The candidate will also possess knowledge and skills
in health promotion approaches, behaviour change theories as well as the
social, environmental and political influences that impact health. The
candidate has experience with Ontario’s heart health program, the public
health system and the Ontario Health Promotion Resource System. The
candidate will possess post graduate education in health promotion or a
related discipline.  Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and
computer), combined with strong project management experience, and the
capacity to work effectively with diverse groups of people on a variety of
initiatives, are essential for this position.   Bilingualism (French/
English) would be a definite asset.

Location: Toronto, with periodic travel
Salary Range: $52,100 to $62,600.
