Position: Executive Director > Application Deadline: Jan. 15th, 2004 

The Position: Reporting to the Board, the Director will hold full financial
and general management responsibilities for the organization. The desired
candidate will be a motivated and devoted individual who can bring solid
operational management and creative skills to help us focus on fund
development. He/she will have demonstrated a strong interest/experience
towards international development. In conjunction with the Board the
selected candidate will ensure that fund development, public participation
and budget projections are realized.

Key Responsibilities: assure the achievement of SOPAR's goals; report to the
Board regularly & provides the necessary analysis/plans; ensure an effective
and excellent relationship with our partner or organization in India. In
addition, the E.D. develops-ensures effective management practices & donor
relationships; guides our fund development efforts and; represents the
organization at the highest levels of governments & institutions.

Essential Qualifications: Dynamic individual with a successful track record
(ideally 4 years of experience) in human resources management / marketing.
Candidate must have experience in targeted fund raising activities;
experience in international development; financial management; superior
leadership skills; strong communicator; language skills in French and
English. Knowledge of Telegu is an asset. Computer literate. A university
degree in Management, International Development or in any other relevant
disciplines. Master's degree is preferred.
