I am assuming the goal is the have the voices of patients/community 
heard in a meaningful way. Women's Health Matters is a public forum and 
therefore the public's input is required. I am very happy to see that 
indeed, if patients choose to participate then they are being 
compensated for their travel, expenses and/or their time.
Community members often times have to pay for baby-sitting costs, as an 
example, out of their own pockets. Those pockets have been drained by 
medical costs and exasperated by lack of income due to illness or other 
social inequities. After all, they are being asked to give their 
expertise for free.
