Re: health promotion and poverty discussion. Thanks to Rhonda for the
reading resources.  I'm sure we all have our favorite organizations to
donate money to. If we want to put our money where our mouth is on this one,
I'd like to suggest one organization, primarily based of poor people and
their supporters which is fighting the war on poverty on many levels in
Toronto.(squeegee issue, panhandling issue, Dundas-Yonge redevelopment and
right wing neighbourhood organizations pushing homeless services out of
downtown core, immigration case work, welfare cheque denials, etc.) It's the
Ontario Coalition Against Poverty, 249 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, M5A 2R9.
You won't get a tax receipt but that will give you an indication of how
badly they need money. $25 - $50 - $100 Anything would help. Cathy Crowe, RN
