TOBACCO USE PREVENTION PROMOTER -- Hamilton-Wentworth
The Hamilton-Wentworth Regional Public Health Department, a Teaching Health
Unit affiliated with McMaster University and the University of Guelph, is
recruiting for a 9 month contract position with the Healthy Lifestyles
Branch. The incumbant may have the opportunity to apply for this as a
permanent position at the end of the contract period.
A Tobacco Use Prevention Promoter is needed to plan, develop, implement and
evaluate tobacco use prevention programs. Applicants with a Master’s
Degree in Health Science, Health Promotion or related area; sound knowledge
of tobacco prevention, behaviour change theory, policy analysis and
development; with demonstrated competence in program planning and
evaluation, health promotion strategies, community mobilization, and
written verbal and mass media communication will be preferred. Candidates
with a baccalaureate degree in health or applied sciences with 2 years
experience in health promotion, community mobilization, program planning,
implementation and evaluation and strong research and analytical skills
will also be considered. Salary based on $41,516.02 - $47,176.22 per
annum.
