ANNOUNCEMENT

3RD SUMMER INSTITUTE ON HEALTH PROMOTION PLANNING & EVALUATION

The Institute of Health Promotion Research at the University of British
Columbia is pleased to announce its 3rd Annual Summer Institute.

The Summer Institute provides the opportunity to:

*  apply the Precede-Proceed Model (a comprehensive framework for health
   promotion planning with over 450 published applications) to your
   health promotion activities

*  network with other professionals working in health promotion

*  use the EMPOWER software program to guide you through the
   Precede-Proceed Model

*  meet with Summer Institute faculty for individual and group consultations


DAYS I-III of the Summer Institute include:

*  interactive plenary sessions on the Precede-Proceed Model
*  hands-on practice with the EMPOWER software
*  small groups sessions to apply the model to planning your own program
*  informal group or individual consultations

DAYS IV & V include

*  further opportunity for using the EMPOWER software
*  informal group or individual consultations
*  workshops on a variety of health promotion topics including:

     - Social Determinants of Health
     - Assessing Health Promotion Program Implementation
     - Experience in Community Health Promotion
