This morning at approximately 10:50am the storage device containing all the
incoming mail (i.e. inbox folders) experienced a disk failure. The problem
was corrected without any loss of data and e-mail services were resumed by
11:30am.

The storage device used by the e-mail service is an array of disks with
built-in protections against data loss. Should any of the disks fail, the
device begins to reconstruct the data on a standby spare disk without any
interruption of service. However, this morning the spare disk also failed
and required us to manually intervene and use a second spare disk.

We regret any inconvenience this might have caused you.
