Injury Prevention Project Officer
(2-3 month casual position)

Stanton Regional Health Board, based in Yellowknife, has an immediate opening
for a highly motivated individual to work as an Injury Prevention Project
Officer.  The successful candidate will travel extensively and work in
conjunction with the Regional Medical Health Officer, the Department of Health
and Social Services, several Health and Social Services Boards and other injury
prevention partners.  Community-based information and epidemiologic data will be
gathered and analyzed to identify regional injury prevention needs, develop a
program description and write a proposal for an ongoing program.

Your experience and skills should include proposal writing, qualitative research
experience, familiarity with northern/rural communities and a sound grasp of
epidemiologic principles.  You should have or be working towards a Masters in
Health Promotion.  A practical understanding of  community development
approaches is essential.

Equivalencies will be considered.  Must be able to travel in small aircraft in a
northern setting.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, ranging between
$25.90 and $29.35  (these figures include a Northern Allowance of $0.897/hour).

An eligibility list will be created from this competition and may be used for
three months to fill other casual Injury Prevention Project Officer positions.
