The Central Ontario Branch of the Kidney Foundation requires a
Patient Education Coordinator

The Kidney Foundation of Canada is a national volunteer organization
dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of people living
with kidney disease. The Central Ontario Branch is presently seeking
candidates for the position of Patient Education Coordinator.

The Patient Education Coordinator is responsible for coordinating
patient education activities at the Central Ontario Branch, including
information & referral, patient manuals, patient symposia, the resource
library, the bursary program, and a renal education group. This position
will also provide staff support to the Advocacy Committee and perform
outreach to renal professionals to inform them of the Branch's patient
services.

This is a full time, permanent position.

Qualified candidates will have:
-a university degree or college diploma in social work or a related
discipline
-significant experience in providing information both in person and over
the phone in a supportive and sensitive manner a proven track record of
recruiting and motivating volunteers and working with volunteer
committees
- strong organizational and time management skills
- demonstrated abilities in public speaking, report writing, and use of
computers, especially Microsoft Word
- flexibility for work hours, including evenings and weekends
- a valid driver's license and use of a car
- knowledge of kidney disease (preferred but not required)
