Hello,

This message just appeared on the Health-Promotion list out of Sweden,
managed by Bo Haglund. It reminded me of two Canadian initiatives:

1. the work done by Ontario Public Health Association on Building
Capacity for Policy Change, and the document "Making a Difference in
Your Community: A Guide for Policy Change". For more information
contacted Kim Badinovic e-mail: [log in to unmask] Perhaps Kim could
comment at greater length?

2. Two documents produced in 1991 by the BC Ministry of Health Office of
Health Promotion in collaboration with the Social Planning and Research
Council of BC (SPARC) on "Examples and Outcomes of Healthy Public
Policy" and "A Guide for Communities to Enact Health-Promoting
Policies". The Office of Health Promotion in BC no longer exists, but
perhaps someone on this list could suggest contacts in BC who are still
working on this important area?

Thanks,

Alison Stirling, E-Mail [log in to unmask]

[By the way, Elizabeth Gyorfi-Dyke is a subscriber to CLICK4HP, so
perhaps she could share the results of her query?]
