The Social Program Evaluation Group is a multidisciplinary research group
which focuses on policy research in the broad areas of education, health,
and social services.  Since 1981, SPEG's studies have included large-scale
surveys, program evaluation, and needs assessments.

Queen's University seeks an outstanding individual possessing a Ph.D. or
equivalent with extensive experience in health policy, program evaluation,
and educational research.  It is expected that the successful candidate
will have postgraduate training in one or more of the following
disciplines:  epidemiology, education, economics, sociology, or psychology.
Other relevant credentials will be considered.

The position is a joint appointment between the Faculty of Education and
the Faculty of Health Sciences (Queen's Health Policy Research Unit).  The
major responsibility will be grant and contract research focussed on the
areas mentioned above.  The Director requires experience in proposal
preparation, project management, and the presentation and publication of
research findings.  Additional expectations include contributions to
appropriate teaching programs and active participation in the academic
affairs of the host departments.  This is a tenure-track position, with
salary and academic rank commensurate with qualifications.

The successful candidate will have an excellent record of grant and
contract acquisition and publication and will demonstrate a thorough
knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.  The
individual must possess the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary
research teams on both basic and applied research.  Enthusiasm for a
leadership role is essential, as is the ability to mentor younger scholars
and students.  This is a unique and challenging academic opportunity for a
motivated and talented candidate.
