The implications of our report extend far beyond cardiovascular health. Workers
in any disease or health area for which issues of income, gender, race, social
class, and exclusion are relevant (diabetes, cancer, injuries, infectious
disease, etc.) should find our report illuminating and provocative. It also
raises issues about fundamental issues concerning the modifying of "lifestyle"
and the role of public health in promoting health and well-being.
