SURVEY ON EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR HEALTH PROMOTION

A decade has now passed since the Ottawa Charter, the first international
charter for health promotion, was signed in November 1986. In that period it
has significantly influenced policies and programmes around the world, in
the spirit of a new public health.

The 4th International Conference on Health Promotion, to be held in July
1997 in Jakarta has the theme "New Players for a New Era", and builds
on the spirit of the new public health.  Education and
training in Health Promotion is one of the key strategies for
implementing the New Era. This survey, which I very much hope you
will respond to, aims to provide a  world-wide overview of Health
Promotion training.

Its immediate outcome will be a presentation, as Education and
Training Provision on the Web-page of the Health Promotion Research Internet
Network Link (URL = Universal Resource Locator: http://www.ki.se/phs/hprin/).

The time-frame is short!  We took on board the challenge of  making this
survey after a request from the WHO Geneva Health Promotion / Health Education
Unit.  Your answers have to be mailed back by the 23rd of May at the
latest, to be included in the review.
