Hello Health Promotion colleagues.
I am planning a self-esteem health promotion initiative with Gr. 9's and I
wonder if someone out there can help direct me to an appropriate health
measurement instrument. The subjects will be their own controls. The
objectives of the program are to enhance participants attitudinal skills in
the following domains:
* Choosing a positive focus
* Competing with oneself (doing personal best instead of competing
with others)
* Accepting that it is alright to make mistakes (they're opportunities
for learning)
* Recognizing that self-esteem has an internal source based on inner
qualities
* Living with integrity
* Looking for exceptions (when the problem is not interfering with
their ability to achieve their goals)
I'm looking for a health instrument to use pre and post to measure the
impact of the planned interventions. McDowell and Newell's Measuring health.
A guide to rating scales and questionnaires (1996) has some scales that
measure some of the attitudinal skills but not enough. Any thoughts??
