The Hand That Heals - Canada Posts Pays Tribute to 
Health Care Professionals

On June 25, 1998, Canada Post will issue a postage stamp 
recognizing the work of numerous professional 
associations that act as advocates for health 
professionals and work to ensure the highest quality 
standards of health care for our country: the Royal 
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the 
Canadian Medical Association, the Canadian Nurses 
Association, the Canadian Dental Association, and Health 
Canada.  The stamp will be available (from Canada Post) 
until June 24, 1999.

The Internet Healthcare Coalition Presents Quality 
Healthcare Information on the 'Net '98:  "Delivering the 
Promise"

To be held October 5-6, 1998 hosted by Meretek Systems, 
Inc. in McLean, VA.  Patients, consumers, and physicians 
are turning increasingly to the Internet for guidance 
about health and medicine.  The Internet Healthcare 
Coalition (IHC), a nonprofit organization, is currently 
involved with efforts to aid consumers and governments 
control health fraud on the Internet without destroying 
the ability of the Internet to provide useful and 
legitimate health information.  The Quality Healthcare 
Information on the 'Net '98 conference will help the IHC 
fulfill its mission by providing a forum for education 
and a means by which a diverse constituency can meet and 
work towards a common goal: quality healthcare 
information and services on the Internet.

experienced self-motivated individual to support the 
efficient management of humanitarian programs in the 
Americas region for a three month term.  The selected 
candidate has overseas experience, preferably in Central 
or South America, with a solid and proven track record 
in project management.

You have a Bachelors degree in International Relations 
or a related field, and one to three years of related 
work experience. Strong communication skills in English 
and Spanish are essential.  Fluency in French is a 
definite asset.
