This announcement is being sent to many addresses. Please accept my
apologies if you see multiple copies.

========

Seattle, January 8, 1999 -- The Internet Nonprofit Center and the
Nonprofit FAQ have merged. Today marks the launch of expanded
resources at the Internet Nonprofit Center. Today marks the launch
of improved access to the many useful entries in the Nonprofit FAQ.
From now on, a single address -- http://www.nonprofits.org -- will
connect the public to both the Nonprofit Locator and the Nonprofit
FAQ.

At the Internet Nonprofit Center, new features make using this
information easier. A summary of the official records for more than
1,000,000 tax-exempt organizations can be searched for key
information quickly and directly. More than 100 keywords lead
inquirers to hundreds of items of advice and information about
nonprofits.

The newly enhanced Internet Nonprofit Center is a program of The
Evergreen State Society (http://www.tess.org/) in Seattle,
Washington. The long-established address used for the Nonprofit
FAQ -- www.nonprofit-info.org -- will continue to function, steering
users now to the expanded resources of the Internet Nonprofit
Center. The Society has built and maintained the Nonprofit FAQ
using that online address since 1994.

Michael Gilbert is Director of the Internet Nonprofit Center as well
as the editor of Nonprofit Online News
(http://www.gilbert.org/news). Putnam Barber, President of The
Evergreen State Society, is general editor of the Nonprofit FAQ.
Cliff Landesman, founder of the Internet Nonprofit Center, directs
the Center's Form 990 project (http://www.form990.org) and
supervises the collection of documents known as the Library
(http://www.nonprofits.org/lib).
