Reply to comment about the relative impact of cholesterol on CVD

     to lower cholesterol levels has not had a dramatic effect on the
incidence
     of heart attacks."
Whilst I do not doubt the research of Marmot and co the above quote is not
the message I have been lead to believe. Why are we spending so much on
lipid lowering drugs if lowering of cholesterol levels had not been proven
to reduce the incidence of heart disease?
