Dear colleagues here and abroad (sorry for cross-postings),
I just got a phone call from Trevor Hancock announcing that Ron Draper has
died peacefully in his sleep last night after several years of very active
life despite the severe disability that was plaguing him. As the first
director of the Health Promotion Directorate in the federal governement in
Ottawa, and as a key ally of WHO on the international scene of health
promotion since the mid 1980's, Ron has surely been one of the proeminent
figure in the evolution of our field. The CPHA has recognized that by
creating an anual Ron Draper award in Health Promotion that will first be
given next june in Montreal.
Thanks Ron.
Une tres bonne journee.
Michel O'Neill, Ph.D.
