A web site that may interest you and others who are interested in
infrastructure for health promotion, from a regional perspective is at
http://www.dhs.vic.gov.au/phd/9809059/index.htm

In relation to how an organisation may approach health promotion, the
reference at this sites prompts questions such as the following:

  Infrastructure check list: Practitioners
  Does the agency have:
     a policy for health promotion?
     an internal health promotion committee?
     suitably skilled staff?
     opportunities for health promotion?
are there finances dedicated for health promotion, if so how much?

  Infrastructure checklist: Managers
  Does the agency have:
health promotion built in the mission statement or mandate?
     management's

? support and understanding of health promotion?      open planning processes to include health promotion?      data to describe local health concerns?   Between agency relationships   Does the agency have involvement in :      inter-agency health promotion committees or networks?      and beyond the health sector?   The same reference also describes health promotion in Australia and other   practical examples of infrastructure elements that enable agencies to   have a stronger approach to health promotion. These examples are   described as brief case studies titled 'good form'.   Unfortunately some of the key diagrams are not available at this site,   but are included in the paper copy. Please contact me if you are   interested in the diagrams / models.   Regards from Monica Bensberg   Department of Human Services   122 Thomas Street   Dandenong 3175   Victoria Australia   [log in to unmask]
