HPiC Website News aims to keep readers up to date with recently launched
internet websites in the field of health promotion. The newsletter
contains health information and campaign sites, sites of relevant
organisations, and sites which are recommended as good examples of
design for the internet. The newsletter is compiled every two weeks.

The Chronicle is an international digital magazine on changing black
urban communities in Britain and abroad. It contains essays, articles
and information about the black urban experience and invites interaction
and contributions from the reader. The journal is aimed at students,
professionals, and corporate, educational and community clients. The
site is written and edited by
Professor Thomas Blair, an academic and urban planning adviser, and the
site is dedicated to improving the lives of black urban communities.

The "Guide to Internet Resources for Cancer" indexes over 2,700 cancer
related web sites/pages sorted by disease type, medical speciality,
country etc. and has a page dedicated to screening and prevention. It
contains over 50 pages of links to cancer related information, and has
separate sections for health professionals and members of the public.

Imperial Cancer Research Fund's anti- skin cancer campaign website,
which is aimed at the general public. Centred around health promotion
information regarding sun cancer the site provides "sun top tips" for
looking after your skin in the sun.

Bandolier is produced monthly in Oxford for the NHS R&D Directorate. It
contains bullet points (hence Bandolier) of evidence-based medicine. The
August issue is now available online and contains information on
Nicotine replacement: patches, sprays, inhalers and gum,
Evidence-informed Patient Choice and Tamoxifen trials.

The Centre for Evidence Based Mental Health is located at the University
of Oxford. It seeks to promote and support  the teaching and practice of
evidence-based mental healthcare.  The site includes contact
information, information and articles about evidence based mental
healthcare and a journal "Evidence-Based Mental Health: Linking Research
to Practice" which includes some articles in full text.. Also contains a
glossary of evidence based health terminology.

The Quality of Life Research Unit is one of several research units
within the Centre for Health Promotion in the Faculty of Medicine,
University of Toronto.  It's purpose is to carry out quality of life
research that relates to communities, families, and individuals from a
variety of population groups.  The study of Quality of Life is an
examination of factors that contribute to the goodness and meaning of
life, as well as people's happiness. It also explores the
inter-relationships among these factors. Includes details of projects
and reports.

The HUDUSER web server is maintained by the Policy Development and
Research Office of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development,
which is responsible for maintaining current                 information
on housing needs, market conditions, and existing programs, as well as
conducting research on priority housing and community development
issues. This site contains briefing papers, research and data on US
housing market conditions. Also provides access to the HUD USER
bibliographic database which contains more than 5,800 full- abstract
citations on housing policy, building technology, economic development,
urban planning and related fields.

consultancy about urban affairs. The site includes details of current

AHURI acts as an independent advisory service to government and private
sector organisations conducting research and offering training on a
wider range of fields relating to housing and urban studies in
Australia. These include such issues as community and public housing,
youth homelessness and urban renewal. Its website describes the purpose
of the Institute and its current research and training programmes. Also
available on the site is the AHURI database of Urban Expertise which
lists experts in urban and housing studies in Australia.
