Physical Activity Promoter

The Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth is recruiting a Physical
Activity Promoter to assist with chronic disease prevention programming.


Reporting to the Manager of the Nutrition and Physical Activity
Promotion Program, your duties will focus on promotion of healthy weight
and regular physical activity. You have a baccalaureate degree in Health
Promotion, Physical Education, Kinesiology or health Science with two
years relevant work experience in health promotion. Salary based on
$42,063.84 - $49493.08 per annum.

You will design, implement and evaluate community initiatives to meet
the needs of citizens and the statutory public health requirements.  You
will develop and implement activities to raise awareness, increase
knowledge, and change behaviours.  You have a sound knowledge of public
health, applied research, behaviour change theory, policy analysis and
development; with demonstrated competence in program planning,
implementation and evaluation, health promotion strategies and community
mobilization.  You are well organized, have excellent written, verbal
and mass media communication skills, and are able to work well with a
multidisciplinary team.
