The Labrador Inuit Association in Goose Bay, Labrador would be a good source
of information on this subject. For years they have been very vocal and
actively protesting against the German fighter planes who practise their low
flying maneuvers from Goose Bay. The Innu are very concerned about the
effects these flights have on their traditional hunting grounds and, in
particular, the stress they inflict on the caribou herd. Hope this is
helpful.

Subject: Re: Airports and their sonic impacts on communities

Hi Folks!

I'm doing a project trying to articulate the present knowledge around the
effects of sonic impacts from aircraft on the health of a community
surrounding the airport. This is meant to capture not only 'noise' but
the lower range wave length production which causes the sense of anxiety
and stress in both human and animal receptors (apparently it is the same
trigger which has animals leave earthquake zones if they can).

Any tips for research in this area or of related health effects from
regular, repetative loud and unwanted sounds?

Thanks ....

Richard
