HI Elise,

You do not tell us who you are working for and what kind of information you
are hoping to obtain from the groups you are working with.

In 1993/ 1994 I was a member of a workgroup designing the "Jobs Ontario
Homes" tenant participation component of the housing program and we worked
to ensure that groups had tenants involved from the first stages.

There is a lot of information around, but it is difficult to obtain as the
Canadian government has not funded any new housing for close to ten years
and only a few provincial government have gone out on their own.

I'm currently working with a community based non-profit association that is
planning to foster the development of non-profit supportive housing (ie
housing linked to services) for seniors that is initiated, owned and
directed by community groups.

Although still in formative stages, one way the association hopes to help
community groups get started is by developing a fund through which they
could offer community groups seed grants and/or interest-free loans. I am
working with the association to develop a proposal call process for
community groups to access these start-up/planning funds.

I am currently developing the application forms and package, and would be
interested to review sample application forms from other seed funding of
large projects to ensure that the most relevant information is included.
Housing related examples would be great, but not essential.

I would greatly appreciate learning of the names of relevant funding/loan
programs, or sending me any material that you have.

Thanks,

Elise Davis
