Dear Colleagues,

Wellness Works and the Brant County Health Unit will be hosting a Workplace Wellness Symposium on February 29, 2000.

The symposium has been developed to meet the wellness needs being addressed by human resource professionals, business owners and managers, labour representatives, occupational health and health and safety staff.

Recent studies have highlighted the conflict that exists between employee's work and life. High work/life conflict is associated with an increased absence from work, reduced job satisfaction and organizational commitment. According to Health Canada the cost to Canadian businesses is approximately 2.7 billion dollars per year.

The symposium will feature Dr. Kerry Daly of the University of Guelph. He will address "How Businesses Can Create Family Friendly Workplaces" and "Balancing Work and Family". It will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Best Western Brant Park Inn in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. The cost of the symposium is $40.00 and includes two sets of concurrent sessions and various workplace health promotion displays.

We do encourage you to register early, before February 15, 2000, since registration is limited.
For more information or to register, please contact Wellness Works at: (519) 753-4937, Ext. 286 or contact us by email at: [log in to unmask]
