Student Research Assistant Needed
$10/hour, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 9-5
Start date: May 29, 2000
Position contingent upon funding.

We are a women's health research and policy centre seeking a student
research assistant. The duties of the position would include gathering
information for research projects, distributing health promotion materials,
writing promotional copy for research reports, managing our Access database,
and uploading information to the Minisis database.

The ideal candidate would have a background in library science or a
transferable skill set which would include:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· The ability to extract and summarise main ideas clearly and concisely

· The ability to be self-directed, well organised, and able to manage
multiple priorities, deadlines, and agendas

· Confidence and comfort with computers and Microsoft Office software

· Good sense of humour, mature judgment, and a positive "can-do" attitude

In order to qualify for the funding requirements for this position you must
be a permanent resident of BC and have recently attended a post-secondary
educational program full- or part-time. You must plan to return to school in
the fall or have recently graduated and have not been successful in finding
work.
