Position:       Tenure-track appointment at the rank of
Assistant/Associate Professor in Population Health/Epidemiology

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Health, Epidemiology, or a
related field required; knowledge and skill in large-scale sampling and
survey research methods with application to population health.  A Ph.D.
in Statistics with applications to Health will also be considered.

Appointment Date:       July 1, 2003 (open to negotiation)

Duties: The primary duties of this position will be to contribute to
the rapidly developing research and pedagogical profile in health
within the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies and to serve as
Director for the Sample Survey and Data Bank Unit, a research unit
focussed on large-scale inquiry directed mainly at issues in population
health and related public policy.  The successful candidate will be
expected to develop and maintain an active, externally funded program
of research and scholarly activity, pursue funding to support the
SSDBU, contribute to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate
level, and engage in service.

The Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies is a young and dynamic
member of the university community with administrative responsibility
for both academic and co-curricular programs.  Construction has
commenced on a new $31.6 million Centre for Kinesiology, Health, and
Sport with an anticipated opening date of September 2004.  The
