Those of you involved with community athletics or school health may find
this of interest:

The January-February issue of Sportscience News has just been uploaded to
the Sportscience site. The new material at http://www.sportsci.org includes:

* FERRET, a new column for short items of interest to the sportscience
community.

* Glycerol hyperhydration for long hot events.

* Tapering for endurance athletes.

* Carbohydrate depletion prior to loading.

* A profile of Lavoisier and his work in metabolism, nutrition and exercise
physiology.

* A review of new fitness-assessment software.

* New links to top health and medical sites.

* A revised view of reliability, with a downloadable spreadsheet.

Plus all the existing material on these and our other pages: RESEARCH
RESOURCES for skills of analysis and presentation; FORUM for messages on
the sportscience list; NET SEARCH for finding information in Web
pages,journals, and mailing lists; and NET LINKS for an index of websites
and mailing lists.

Viewing Sportscience is done best with Netscape. Microsoft's Internet
Explorer and AOL may not accurately reproduce page layouts, graphics, or
colors.
