Unsettled Youth:
a series for mental health professionals

November 2-4, 1999

The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel
State College, Pennsylvania
**********************************************************

Kids, emotional problems, and mental illness-three things that shouldn't go
together but often do. For professionals working with these children, the
challenges are very specific. The purpose of this series of workshops is to
give people who care for the mentally ill the tools and knowledge they need to
provide the highest level of care to those suffering from Autistic Spectrum
Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and self-esteem-related
disorders in children and adolescents.

These three daylong workshops have been designed to benefit psychiatrists,
psychologists, social workers, counselors, speech and language therapists,
guidance counselors, special education supervisors, and teachers. Each day is
dedicated to a specific disorder which will be covered in depth throughout the
day. Assessment and proper diagnosis issues, as well as current treatment
strategies, will be discussed.
