At approx. 10:30 this morning (Mon. Feb. 8, 99) York lost its
connection to the internet. The internet service outage also
resulted in a general slow-down of across that university network.
It appears that this service outage was inadvertently cause by Bell
while they were doing some work on campus.
Internet service was restored at approx. 12:55, and general network
performance returned to normal levels shortly thereafter.
Questions or concerns about this service outage,
or about network services in general, should be directed
to the CCS Helpdesk in the Steacie Science Library Building,
(voice: 736-5800, email: [log in to unmask]).
