Training Program in International Health
--------------------------------------------------------
The Canadian Society for International Health is pleased
to announce this year's Pan American Health
Organization's Training Program in International Health.
The Program is oriented towards health professionals
living in the Americas, who show leadership and interest
in delving more deeply into the international dimensions
of health. The training process is based on the
participants becoming involved in the work of PAHO
through a work-study format for a period of eleven
months starting in January. Basic requirements are: age
limit of 35, Master's degree in public health or
equivalent, minimum of two years' experience, and
English/Spanish.

Participants in the Program receive a stipend to cover
their basic living expenses and financial support for
settling in (travel and moving expenses).

International Health Youth Internships Program
--------------------------------------------------------
Available internships for 1999 will be posted on the

starting Monday, April 26, 1999.  Other internships will
follow as host organizations are identified.  Once an
internship is filled, it will be removed from the web
page.

Programme 1999 de Formation en Sante Internationale
--------------------------------------------------------
La Societe canadienne de sante internationale est
heureuse d'annoncer le Programme 1999 de Formation en
sante internationale de l'Organisation panamericaine de
la sante. Ce programme vise les jeunes professionels de
la sante des Ameriques qui font preuve de leadership et
d'un interet approfondi envers la dimension
internationale de leurs activites dans le domaine de la
sante. Les participants au programme sont incorpores au
sein de l'OPS en qualite de "residents" pendant une
periode de onze mois commencant en janvier. Les
exigences minimum sont:  35 ans maximum, Maitrise en
sante publique ou un diplome equivalent, deux ans
d'experience, anglais/espagnol.

Chaque participant recoit une allocation pour couvrir
ses frais de subsistance. De plus, l'OPS couvre les
frais de deplacement et de demenagement du participant,
ainsi que l'achat de livres ou de materiel didactique
requis aux fins du programme.
