Health Emergencies in Large Populations is a training course for the
management of humanitarian assistance. In Montreal H.E.L.P. is a joint
initiative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (Geneva) and the
Canadian Red Cross, McGill University, Université de Montréal and the
Montréal-Centre Public Health Department. See website

The course is intended for health professionals. At the end of the course,
participants should be able
* to plan and carry out a general or specific assistance programme and
provide protection to victims when the need arises;
* supervise and lead a team in the field;
* ensure an efficient and smooth-working relationship between all
parties and stimulate their active participation in disaster
relief work.
This course requires active participation of the candidates, through group work
and practical case studies and, as such, will be limited to 25 participants. The
language of the course will be both English and French; participants must be
able to express themselves in both languages.
