I add my voice of concern to that of Dennis Raphael's with respect to the new Ministry Core guidelines. I am at a loss as to where these new (old?)guidelines originate and at whose behest. Having just completed a government directed Taskforce on Health Promotion with our DHC here in Waterloo Region, I am left to wonder if the right hand has any idea what the left hand is doing in our hallowed governmental halls. On the one hand, DHCs are finally leaving the "silo" mentality and recognizing that health promotion is integral and in fact essential to public health, and then the Ministry presents us with Core Guidelines that ignore the whole concept...

in solidarity, and confusion,

Grace Ross
