Canadians who receive the magazine "Elm Street" may have been disturbed to
see the star of the television series "Due South" on the cover holding a
lit cigarette. The article inside about the actor Paul Gross includes a
two page photo of him smoking and looking "cool" and compares him to the
Marlboro man. This man is evidently an international sex symbol, as well
as a role model for children who look up to him as the Mountie character he
plays on "Due South."

If you are concerned about the message this sends, especially to children,
you can contact the editors via e-mail at [log in to unmask] or phone them
at 416-595-9944.
