PAHO/WHO has a vacancy for an Emergency Preparedness
Advisor with duty station in Quito, Ecuador.  This
senior-level Adviser will assist in developing and
strengthening disaster preparedness, mitigation and
response programs in South America.

Reproductive Health; Level: P.4; Post Number: 4.3209;

Duty Station: Bridgetown, Barbados; Tenure: Two years,
first year probationary period; Division/Program/Office:
Health Promotion and Protection (HPP); Family Health and
Population Program (HPF)

Salary Information: Basic Salary: $50,767 at single rate;
Post Adjustment: $18,327 at single rate;
Hardship/Mobility: $2,266 at single rate

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: University degree in one of the health
professions with a postgraduate degree to at least the
Master's level in a specialty related to family health,
maternal and child health, health services or public
health.

Experience:  At national level:  Seven years of
progressively more responsible experience in positions
charged with directing, managing and/or administering
national programs in maternal and child health and family
health.  Policy, clinical and managerial knowledge and
experience are required, as well as a familiarity with
research issues. At international level: Two years of
participation in technical cooperation programs and
activities in health related to different aspects of the
family health and population field in developing
countries.  Experience should include responsibilities in
policy, training, research design and evaluation as well
as cooperation with different international and bilateral
agencies.

Languages: Very good knowledge of English and a working
knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
in finance, accounting or business administration with
specialized formal training in Information Systems
Management and/or Computer Science.

Experience: Five years of progressively more responsible
experience in financial management operations, including
activities related to program budgeting and the use of
computers in budget formulation and execution, one of
which includes experience in program budgeting at the
multinational level.

Languages:  Very good knowledge of English and Spanish.
