Hi Peter,
I work at the National Clearinghouse on Family Violence (NCFV) at Health Canada.
The NCFV is a national resource centre for all Canadians seeking information
about violence within the family and new resources being used to address it.
In a few weeks, a new publication entitled "Husband Abuse: An Overview of
Research and Perspectives" will be released. As well, a revised 1999 version of
"Canada's Treatment Programs for Men who Abuse their Partners" will be ready in
a few months (the 1998 version is currently available).
If you're interested in these resources, please call our toll-free number
(1-800-267-1291 or 613-957-2938) and ask to be put on the waiting list for these
publications. We also have a listing of our publications that you may be
interested in. Each resource is described in a bilingual format.
Hope this is helpful.
Take care,
Lianna Ferran

Annick,
Sorry this reply is so late.
Do you have examples of work in Canada with males
around issues to do with domestic violence, e.g.
- perpetrator counselling programmes
- community education projects to raise awareness of
the effects of dv on young peole and children
- multi-agency development work to integrate working
with males into mainstream dv agency activity.
I'm involved in Action Against Men's Violence -
Sheffield that operates this 3 stranded approach and
there are a number of other UK-based projects that
work with males, too.
No need to respond urgently.

Cheers, Peter.
