Project Co-ordinator, Ontario Public Health Association

The OPHA has an immediate opening for a full-time Project Co-ordinator on a
contractual basis until March 31, 2004.

The Project Co-ordinator is responsible for all aspects of the project:
International Scan of Best Practices in the Prevention of Diabetes Type II.
This will include: contracting necessary staff/consultants; establishing and
managing an Advisory Committee; refining the criteria for identifying best
practices and disseminating the identified best practices nationally to
practitioners.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years progressive experience in
planning and managing projects in a public/ community health setting.
Knowledge of health promotion, community development and/or Diabetes Type II
is required.  Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and computer),
combined with strong project management experience, and the capacity to work
effectively with diverse groups of people on a variety of initiatives, are
essential for this position.   Bilingualism (French/ English) would be a
definite asset.

Location: Toronto, with periodic travel across the country;  ability to work
independently is required.
