Please find above two documents relating to the ongoing federal
Telecommunications Policy Review
Panel (TPRP) sent to you by the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC).
PIAC is a non-profit
organization that provides legal and research services on behalf of
consumer interests, and, in
particular, vulnerable consumer interests, concerning the provision of
important public
services. PIAC has participated fully in the TPRP review. However, PIAC
believes that the
process undertaken by the federal government to review telecommunications
policy in Canada is
rushed and flawed and likely to result in higher prices, service and
quality problems and removal
of important consumer protections.
Therefore we urge you to read the backgrounder and endorse the declaration
by sending an email to this address [log in to unmask], with your organization
name and contact
information, by no later than November 15, 2005. It is our intent to
deliver the declaration,
with all endorsements, to the Minister of Industry and the TPRP after
November 15,
2005.

Veuillez trouver ci-joint deux documents concernant le Groupe d'étude sur
le cadre
réglementaire des télécommunications (GECRT) qui vous sont envoyés par le
Centre pour la défense
de l'intérêt public (CDIP). Le CDIP est un organisme à but non lucratif qui
offre des
services juridiques, ainsi que des services de recherche au nom des
consommateurs et, en
particulier, des consommateurs vulnérables, concernant des services publics
importants. Le
CDIP a participé à toutes les consultations du GECRT. Néanmoins, le CDIP
croit que le processus
d'étude sur le cadre réglementaire des télécommunications lancé par le
gouvernement
fédéral était précipité et suspect, et qu'il risque de faire augmenter les
prix, de créer des
problèmes de service à la clientèle et de faire diminuer la qualité des
services et la protection des consommateurs.
C'est pourquoi nous vous recommandons de lire le sommaire ci-joint et
d'approuver la déclaration
ci-jointe en répondant au présent courriel, en indiquant le nom de votre
organisation et les
coordonnées de la personne?ressource, au plus tard le 15 novembre 2005.
Nous prévoyons livrer
la déclaration, ainsi que la liste de tous ceux qui l'ont approuvée, au
ministre de l'Industrie
et au GECRT, après le 15 novembre 2005.
