Assessment in Health Care (ISTAHC)

San Francisco, California, USA, June 23-26, 1996
 
Conference Objective:  The main objectives of this meeting are to
(1) explore ways in which technologies are used and assessed in
diverse fields of public health, and (2) consider recent methods
that enhance access to health services, such as computer-based
communication methods, telemedicine, and other means of delivering
medical information and health care to distant sites.
 
Call for Abstracts:
 
Only those who are registered for ISTAHC '96 will be eligible to
present papers and posters at the International Meeting.  Deadline
for receipt of abstracts in San Francisco is Ocober 25, 1995.

International Human Rights: LAW GROUP

Organization:  The International Human Rights Law Group is a
nonprofit advocacy organization that works to empower human rights
advocates in developing countries to promote and protect human
rights in their countries; advance the development of international
human rights law; and seek justice for the victims of human rights
abuses before international tribunals.
 
Job Announcement - Program Director
 
Job Title/Description:  Program Director administers the
organization's Rule of Law and Civil Society programs in Asia,
Africa and Latin America with the goal of strengthening the
capacity of local human rights activists and actors in the justice
system of the country.  Responsibilities include program design;
fund-raising with the assistance of Development Director;
identifying appropriate staff; overseeing projects; and ensuring
coordination with other Law Group projects.  The Program Director
works closely with the Women in the Law Project and the
International  Advocacy Program.
 
Qualifications:  Law Degree with minimum 7 years legal experience;
French fluency and knowledge of civil code legal systems desirable;
significant field experience in human rights and/or development
projects; strong writing skills; experience with program design and
management; and experience with fund-raising.  Extensive travel
required.
