JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Brown University, Alan Shawn Feinstein World Hunger Program invites
applications for a two year (renewable, pending funding) resident
appointment at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor (Research).
Duties involve some undergraduate and graduate teaching combined
with research, policy, and public service-related activities.
Candidates should have Ph.D. in a social science and a strong
commitment to interdisciplinary work. Research and teaching should
address current Program priorities: the linkages between hunger and
other global issues (population), conflict, environment, poverty):
the future of diets in particular national settings; human rights to
food; and hunger and development policy. Appointments begin July 1,
1995. Applications will be accepted through February 15, 1995.
 
Applicants are invited to submit a description of background and
research interests, a curriculum vitae, and names of three
references for Assistant Professor and five references for
Associate Professor position to:

Cette premi re  cole d' t  montr alaise en sant  publique
s'adresse   des administrateurs et   des professionnels du
domaine de la sant , poss dant un niveau de formation  quivalent
  un premier cycle universitaire et une exp rience professionnelle.
 
Elle vise   fournir sous forme intensive aux participants
l'occasion d'am liorer leur pratique en d veloppant des
connaissances, des outils et des habilet s dans des
domaines prioritaires de la gestion et de la sant  publique.
 
Possibilit  de 3 cr dits d'enseignement par session pour les
participants qui s'inscriraient ult rieurement   un dipl me ou
une ma trise du secteur de la sant  publique, sous r serve d'une
 valuation formelle.
 
Nombre de places limit  par session : 20 participants
 
Deux s ries de sessions de quarante-cinq (45) heures chacune
sont offertes au choix des participants.

 HOW MANY ROADS?

A Conference on Regionalization & Decentralization
in Health Care
 
Health reform initiatives in Canada are widespread. Among the
variety of approaches to reform regionalization and
decentralization have taken on a pivotal role in most
provincial reform efforts.
 
In conjuction with the Canadian Medical Association, Queen's
University is organizing its third Health Policy Conference,
"How many roads...?": Regionalization and Decentralization in
Health Care.
 
To provide an ideal opportunity to evaluate the different "roads
taken" within Canada and internationally in health care region-
alization and decentralization and to focus on and question the
value of these various approaches to health reform.
 
At Queen's University in the beautiful and historic city of
Kingston, Ontario.
 
June 14-16th, 1995.
