The Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF) of Japan has posted their
January 1999 Newsletter, a Special Report on Contractors and
Consultants, to their website.  You can directly link to the document

Tools You Can Use:

This week's tool is a link to the Year 2000 Budget for USAID as Proposed
by the White House.  Other tools this year have included:

January 31, 1999 - Projects Funded by the Agence Française de
Développement.

January 24, 1999 - World Bank's 1998 Annual Review of Development
Effectiveness (ARDE).

January 17, 1999 - CD-DEXS : USAID's Development Experience System on
CD-ROM. This tool includes over 9,000 USAID project descriptions and
almost 100,000 report citations, as well as hundreds of reports in
full-text.

January 31, 1999 - Time for Change: Food Aid and Development
Consultation

The World Food Program has recently made available the report Time for
Change: Food Aid and Development Consultation. You can link to the HTML
Version of reports presented in October of 1998 and/or download the new
WFP report in PDF Format.

January 10, 1999 - Special Report on International Cooperation

The December 1998 Issue of the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund of
Japan Newsletter is a special report on International Cooperation.  You

Africa Business Network - brings in one place information on resources
from IFC, its partners and others that can help increase the quantity
and quality of private investment in Africa.

Contraceptive Research and Development (CONRAD) Program - under a
Cooperative Agreement with the U.S.Agency for International Development,
has as its primary objective the development of new or improved
contraceptive methods that are safe, effective, acceptable, and suitable
for use in the US and developing countries.

Education For All Forum - an international watchdog body, set up after
the World Conference on Education for All in 1990 to promote and monitor
progress towards Education for All.

Environment Information Clearinghouse (EIC) - is a program of the United
States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the Global
Environment Center. EIC was established to provide multi-disciplinary
environment research and information services to USAID and its worldwide
missions.

Global ChildNet - an organisation which uses the Internet to offer a
range of easily accessible, child health related, on-line services.
These services include databases and other information on issues related
to the well-being of the world's children.

Global Environment Centre Foundation - makes step-by-step efforts so
that all people in the world can lead an affluent life in a clean
environment on Planet Earth.

International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC) - main role is to
promote the application of Environmentally Sound Technologies (ESTs) to
address urban environmental problems, such as sewage, air pollution,
solid waste and noise, and the management of freshwater basins to
developing countries and countries with economies in transition.

International Rescue Committee - is the leading non-profit, nonsectarian
voluntary organization providing relief, protection, and resettlement
services for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict.

Operation Smile - not-for-profit, volunteer medical services
organization that provides reconstructive facial surgery to indigent
children and young adults in 16 developing countries and in
the United States.

Small Enterprise Education and Promotion (SEEP) Network - is an
association of more than 40 North American private and voluntary
organizations which support micro and small enterprise programme in the
developing world.

Societe de Cooperation Pour Le Developpement International (French)

USAID-Ethiopia - Official Web Site of the USAID Mission in Ethiopia.

Central-Asian American Enterprise Fund - promotes the development of
private enterprise in Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan by operating as a venture capital
institution to companies operating in the region, and to those companies

EWET - Education With Enterprise Trust -Enabling poor Southern African

Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC) - The Network Startup Resource

Internet, especially to academic/research institutions and
non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Romanian-American Enterprise Fund - implements a strategic plan to
fosters private sector development by investing in and making loans to
small and medium size companies and by providing technical assistance.

Rural Advancement Foundation International

State Family Planning Commission of China - Information and statistics
on family planning in China.

World Council of Credit Unions - promotes the sustainable development of
credit unions worldwide as instruments of economic and social
development.

YES - Youth Enterprise Society - A South African school based, club
movement that develops the entrepreneurial competencies of grades 9, 10
and 11 learners through a community based and action learning approach.
