              A CLINICAL AND LABORATORY UPDATE

                   Montreal May 22-24, 1996

This programme is intended to assist clinicians, nurses, planners
and laboratory personnel dealing with tourists, overseas
employees, immigrants and missionaries with health problems
acquired in the tropics or planning to work in a tropical
location. The presentations will be problem oriented. Advances in
understanding of new etiologic agents, pathophysiology and
treatment will be highlighted. The faculty will be drawn from
McGill University, University of Toronto and McMaster University
specialists in tropical medicine and clinical parasitology with
the addition of Dr. Frank Bia from Yale University and Dr.
Edemariam Tsega, past Dean of Medicine, Addis Ababa University,
Ethiopia.

An all-day hands-on laboratory programme is offered on Wednesday,
May 22, 1996. This session will highlight microscopy and staining
of malaria, intestinal protozoa and helminths. The laboratory
session will be limited to 40 participants.
