Those interested in making E-MAIL contacts in Africa, and who are generally
interested in the question of connectivity with developing countries,. might
wish to consider subscribing to:

- the HELINA-L list ( at: [log in to unmask])
  ----------------------------
HELINA-L is for "Health Informatics in Africa", i.e. it is very
specifically about computers + health care + Africa. It is
in a loose relation with the IMIA (International Medical Informatics
Association) and the WHO.

- the WPG4-L list.
  --------------------------
This list is MANUALLY operated. Please E-MAIL to
[log in to unmask] if you are interested in joining.
<<WG94-L is operated by the working group for "Social Implications
of Computers in Developing Countries" which is part of IFIP (International
Federation for Information Processing, the global umbrella for the
national computer societies). I.e. it is quite generally about
social issues + computers + developing countries.>>

- the INTERAFRIQ list (at: [log in to unmask]) - BILINGUAL
  --------------------------------
<<We wish this list to be a place of discussion for people that make
the internet in tropical Africa. It's a matter :
- To inform on realizations concerning connectivity (access places, access
conditions...)
- To discuss about strategies and technical choices : national networks,
satellites, cellular systems, protocols....
- to discuss about projects and to help in their convergence
- to tackle the financial aspects of network in the less advanced countries>>
