This is a posting taken from the 101domain.com hosting registrar. I have
not deleted their marketing information
as a thank you for using their information on How to avoid falling victim
to a COVID-19 phishing email attack.
This mainly references North American institutions but the advice is easily
translatable to other settings.

How to avoid falling victim to a COVID-19 phishing email attack.
Cybersecurity is a top priority at 101domain. We are here to keep you safe.

Security researchers have identified multiple phishing scams in which
attackers pose as authorities like the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) or the World Health Organization (WHO) in emails, offering
information about the virus in order to trick victims into downloading
malicious software or handing over their login credentials.
Email scammers are taking advantage of coronavirus fears to impersonate
health officials and trick people into giving up personal information.
They are using email phishing schemes in an attempt to profit on
people's confusion and fear surrounding the virus.
Coronavirus phishing emails to watch out for.
Some of the scams spread false claims that the virus has spread to
victims' home cities, then prompts users to enter their email passwords in
order to read more information.
Other examples use malicious links to direct victims to a fake portal
that harvests credentials or install malware that can give hackers access
to company systems.
The World Health Organization released an advisory urging people to stay
on the lookout for phishing scams related to coronavirus and the following
will help you to avoid falling to a Coronavirus phishing attack:
Don't give in to scams that make you feel pressured to act quickly.
If you already handed over sensitive information, change your passwords
immediately.
Check the sender's email domain and see if it matches the website of the
organization.
Be careful when you receive emails from free mail providers like
@gmail.com or @yahoo.com.
Don't trust login pages with unfamiliar URLs.
Check the URLs included in the email and watch out for valid SSL
certificates ( https:// instead of http:// in the address bar).
Navigate directly to the organization’s website to look for or request
the information mentioned via email.
Trust is everything in the world of online business.
Security challenges rank among the most pressing issues of modern times
and creating a trusted environment is essential when doing business online.

Investing in technology to protect your customers and earn their trust
is a critical factor for your website’s success.
	  EV SSL Certificate
Use an EV SSL certificate to encrypt information on your website and
build trust. EV SSL provides the highest level of domain and business
validation with a secure padlock and Sectigo site seal.
	  More Info (https://www.101domain.com/ssl_certificates.htm)
	  Secure Web Accelerator
With Secure Web Accelerator, you can enable DNSSEC for your web
properties. DNSSEC provides authentication to prevent attackers from
exploiting DNS queries.
	  More Info (https://www.101domain.com/secure_web_accelerator.htm)
	  Block Email Phishing
OnDMARC enables organizations to configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC quickly
to block phishing attacks actively and stop email impersonation.
