Call for Abstracts: 3rd Canadian Conference on International Health
November 10-13, 1996

For the third time, the Canadian Society for International Health
and the Canadian University Consortium for Health in Development
are co-hosting this large international conference. The theme for
this year’s event is "Effectiveness in Health Development".
The planning committee has issued a call for abstracts, from which
will be selected papers for presentation at the conference. Papers
might approach the theme from a number of perspectives, including:
system organization, services delivery, clinical issues, research,
training, et cetera.

Sollicitation d'abreges : 3e Conference canadienne sur la sante
international : le 10 - 13 novembre 1996

Pour la troisieme annee consecutive, la Societe canadienne de sante
internationale et le Consortium universitaire canadien sur la sante
dans le developpement parraineront cette importante conference
internationale. Le theme portera cette fois sur "L'efficacite en
sante et developpement".
Le comite organisateur a publie une sollicitation d'abreges, qui
permettra de selectionner les differentes presentations qui seront
faites a la conference. Les exposes peuvent etre relies au theme
principal depuis differents points de vue, tels que: l'organisation
des systemes, la prestation des services, des questions cliniques,
la recherche, la formation, etc.

June 7 to July 3, 1996 - International Policy Advocacy Training

The School for International Training in partnership with the
Advocacy Institute of Washington, DC and the Center for Citizen
Advocacy in New York will be offering a course entitled
International Policy Advocacy Training. Speakers will include NGO
leaders and resource persons from a number of international policy
agencies. This program is designed to promote understanding of
international policy, the policy-making process, and effective
advocacy; in addition to enhancing cross-cultural communication
and networking skills.

The Working with America’s Youth Conference July 21 - 24, 1996
----------------------------------------------------------------
This conference, hosted by the National Resource Center for Youth
Services, will be held at the St Louis Marriott Pavilion in Tulsa,
OK. Presentations will focus on direct services for at-risk youth
and management - administration relating to the organization,
development, and maintenance of effective youth and child welfare
service programs. This conference is targeted at persons
interested or involved in social services, child welfare, juvenile
justice, youth advocacy, education and counseling.

holding a one day forum preceeding the NCIH 23rd Annual Conference.
